After years of very troubling numbers, it seems that the United States economy is starting to get back on track with some actual growth in the form of increased consumer spending that is showing some confidence in the national and global economy that has been lacking for almost two straight years. The changes are being monitored by the US Commerce Department and they are heartening for both government officials and consumers who have been awaiting serious improvement in the retail sector as well as the housing market that needs to re bound so that the US economy can begin to full recover from a slump that left many consumers without jobs or medical health care coverage. Things are looking up in the past month with grown being minimal, but steady and the tax season proving that consumers are willing to spend their tax return money on products instead of hoarding in due to worries that the economy might not be getting better,. The after tax incomes are still falling, but that is expected by most experts to begin to rise.

Still, consumers will need to watch their spending as spending on the whole for US consumers continues to outpace incomes. With increased global competition, consumers will need to be careful to manage their resources properly if they wish to maintain the current growth in their own financial lives and not fall victim to over spending and their own personal deficit. Analysts predict things getting better in the coming months as the economy continues to get back on track closer to its pre 2008 state.
